Working with Studies

ActionHow
Open a studyClick it in the study panel
Rename a studySelect it, press F2 or right-click → Rename
Move study up/downAlt+Up / Alt+Down, or right-click → Move Up/Down
Delete a study from menuRight-click → Remove from Menu (file stays on disk)
Add study from diskRight-click → Add to Menu, or Study > Import STY
Create new studyStudy > New Study (picks from factory templates)
Compare two studiesStudy > Compare

Working with Modules

ActionHow
Select a moduleClick it in the module panel
Reorder modulesDrag and drop within the module list
Add a moduleRight-click module list → Add Module, pick type
Delete a moduleRight-click → Delete Module (above THE END only)
Copy module to another studyDrag a module from the module list and drop it onto a study in the left panel
Module types: Doppler, Dual PVR, One Pressure, Dual PPG, One PPG, Fixed Text, Graphic, Variable Expression, Variable Text, VRT, Dual MVO, Thermo, 2PPG+Pressure, Timer, Variable Line.

Editing Parameters

Basic editing

Numbers: Click the value, type a new number, press Enter to save or Esc to cancel.
Dropdowns: Click the value, a dropdown appears with all valid options. Select one.
Text fields: Click the value, type the new text, press Enter.
Tab: Press Tab to move to the next field, Shift+Tab for previous.

Undo / Redo

Ctrl+Z to undo, Ctrl+Y to redo. Up to 20 levels. Each field change is one undo step.

Change tracking

All changes are tracked in the change summary (View > Change Summary). You can review what you changed before saving. The status bar shows whether the study has unsaved modifications.

Bulk Edit — Apply to All

This is the fastest way to configure a new system. Set a value once, then apply it to every module of the same type — in the current study or across all studies on disk.

How to use

Step 1: Click on any parameter value (Gain, Filter, Speed, Export Code, etc.) to enter edit mode.
Step 2: Right-click the field. This menu appears:

Scope options explained

OptionWhat it doesExample
Apply to All Same Type
(this study)
Copies the value to every module of the same type in the current study only Set Gain=4 on one Doppler → all Dopplers in this ABI study get Gain=4
Apply to All Studies Copies the value to every module of the same type across all study files on disk Set Filter=150 on one Doppler → every Doppler in every study gets Filter=150
Apply to All Studies modifies files on disk and cannot be undone. A confirmation dialog appears before applying. Backups are created automatically.

What "Same Type" means

"Same Type" means modules with the same module type code. For example:

If you're editingIt applies toIt does NOT apply to
A Doppler module (type 6)All other Doppler modulesDual PVR, One Pressure, PPG, etc.
A Dual PVR module (type 1)All other Dual PVR modulesDoppler, One Pressure, PPG, etc.
A One Pressure module (type 2)All other One Pressure modulesDoppler, Dual PVR, PPG, etc.

New system setup workflow

1. Open any study → select a Doppler module
2. Set Gain, Speed, Filter to your preferred values
3. Right-click each value → Apply to All Studies
4. Repeat for Dual PVR modules (inflation type, target pressure, etc.)
5. Run Study > Set Facility Name to set the facility name across all studies
6. Run Study > Batch END Editor to set DOB/RefMD/Accession labels

All studies are now configured. Total time: a few minutes, regardless of how many studies exist.

Menu Folders

ActionHow
Create a folderPress Insert in the study panel, or right-click → New Folder
Remove a folderRight-click → Remove Folder (studies move to parent; files stay on disk)
Rename a folderRight-click → Rename Folder
Collapse/expandClick the folder tab or subfolder header
Add external folderFile > Add Study Folder — adds another directory as a tab

Study Builder

Study > New Study creates a new study from a factory template. It copies the template to your studies folder and adds it to the menu. The new study appears at the end of the selected folder.

Batch Operations

OperationMenuWhat it does
Set Facility NameStudy > Set Facility NameUpdates the facility name in every study's END record at once
Batch END EditorStudy > Batch END EditorEdit DOB label, Referring MD label, Accession label, and Sex label across all studies in one dialog
DICOM AuditStudy > DICOM AuditChecks export codes, facility names, and DOB fields across all studies. Reports missing or misconfigured values.
Apply to All StudiesRight-click any parameter valueCopies one parameter value to all modules of the same type across all studies

Health Check & Validation

Health dots

Each study in the left panel shows a colored dot:

Green — file is structurally sound (checksums valid, END record present)
Yellow — minor issues (e.g., checksum mismatch, auto-repaired on load)
Red — structural problems (missing END record, corrupt data)

Validate

Study > Validate runs a deeper check on the current study: export codes configured, waveform slots assigned, no duplicate export codes. This checks configuration completeness — a green health dot means the file is sound, but Validate checks that the study is ready for clinical use.
Factory default studies may show export code warnings during Validate. This is expected — factory defaults don't have export codes configured because each site assigns their own.

Troubleshooting

IssueSolution
Studies not showing up Check that C:\STUDIES contains .sty files and a MENU.MNU file. Use Edit > Repair Menu File if the MNU is missing or corrupt.
Parameter shows wrong value after edit Some fields have validation rules (e.g., export codes 0-999, speed enum values). The value may be clamped to the valid range. Check the status bar for messages.
Study shows yellow/red health dot Open the study — UConfigW2 auto-repairs checksum issues on load. For red dots, check that the file isn't corrupt or truncated.
Changes not visible in S2WIN Make sure you pressed Ctrl+S to save. S2WIN reads the file from disk, so changes must be saved before S2WIN will see them.
MOD files not found Place the MOD folder in the same directory as UConfigW2.exe. The program prompts for the MOD location on first run and saves it.
"Trial expired" message Contact Unetixs for a licensed copy: support@unetixs.com | 1-800-4UNETIX
Backups: Every save creates a timestamped backup in your studies folder. If something goes wrong, you can restore from these backups.
